Water Sports & Wildlife

Puerto Escondido is known for beautiful white-sand beaches with an abundance of water activities. World-class surfing is steps from the house, or if you’ve always wanted to learn, one of Puerto’s best schools will have you standing and surfing in no time. And don’t forget, there’s scuba diving, snorkeling and stand-up paddleboarding among the coastline’s unspoiled reefs.

We can arrange for fishing tours (deep sea or close to shore), whale, dolphin and sea turtle watching, or touring the Laguna de Manialtepec mangrove lagoon, combining kayaking, bird watching, and swimming in the phosphorescent waters. And for landlubbers, there’re always guided horseback rides to remote thermal pools.

Restaurants & Town

Just a 15-minute drive from Casa Sofia, Puerto Escondido’s open-air market, Benito Juarez, is an amazing walk through colors, flavors and Mexican traditions. Delight in the village restaurants from small local “secret” spots to famous 5-star restaurants. Or enjoy a food or cooking tour where maybe you’ll become an expert on tacos, salsas, tortillas, cheese, chocolate, coffee and mezcal.

Discover your own adventure, or let us guide you to the best tours for food, Oaxacan culture, shopping, galleries, local artisans, or whatever your pleasure.

Wellness Activities

Relax and enjoy your own wellness holiday at this special retreat destination. We will happily arrange for spa treatments, yoga classes, and other wellness activities.
